Web hosting provider Freudenberg IT announced on Monday it has opened its newest data center and office in Durham, North Carolina to build on its North America presence and better accomodate customers in the region.

This is the latest in FIT’s continuous investments in new offices and data centers, and hiring key personnel such as its vice president of sales for the West region, Jeff Joyce, to meet the growing demand for its IT outsourcing, application hosting, and SAP managed hosting services.

As a result, we continue to enhance our mission-critical hosting services portfolio to meet the growing demands of the markets we serve.”

The new office and data center is located in a 30,000 square foot solid-concrete building on a 13-acre campus in the heart of the Research Triangle Park.

According to the press release, the property has plenty of space for future expansion, using FIT’s modular data center concept to scale out the facility.

Based on business growth, FIT can construct data centers as self-contained, reinforced bunkers within the data center building without the need to retrofit or interrupt existing data center operations and modules.

It also allows FIT to implement the latest data center technologies when expanding the data center footprint.

The new data center is consistent with FIT’s other data centers and incorporates its “Metro Data Center Cluster” and “Bunker-within-a-Bunker” infrastructure designs.

Freudenberg IT currently has 11 data center locations in Europe, North America, China and South East Asia from which it provides customers with mission-critical service levels, high availability, disaster recovery, and data security simultaneously.

The data center infrastructure comprises of 2N redundant throughout, supporting both planned and unplanned downtimes without interruption to customer systems.

The new Durham data center houses FIT’s cloud hosting platform, FITvFlex.
