December 6th  2010 marks the date when another legal battle begins in the Kentucky online gambling domain name seizure case that has been simmering for the last two years. 
    Lawyers for the State of Kentucky USA are making a bundle handling this boondoggle of a legal argument. Kentucky's attorneys have introducing new motions ahead of a scheduled hearing Dec.6th regarding the seizure of 141 internationally registered online gambling domain names.
    Judge Thomas Wingate, the original judge in the case will preside over the proceedings. In essence Kentucky's lawyers have already made moves to have the organizations that have been fighting on behalf of the online gambling domains, removed from the case, claiming that they have no legal standing. The state's legal stance is now proposing that the 141 domains be categorized into smaller groups, attempting to better manage the massive list of domain names.
    The legal eagles for the Commonwealth of Kentucky are busy trying to identify the owners of the specified domain accounts with some success. Their intention is to bring these owners into court and submit to the scrutiny of the laws questioned before the judge. If the domain owners do not appear before the judge they may have to forfeit their ownerships and be put out of business in other jurisdictions.
    Kentucky’s attorneys have submitted this statement to the court prior to the hearing, "In order to effectively manage the large number of sites, the Commonwealth suggests that the determination of identification and ownership of sites occur in groups. The Commonwealth requests that the initial group consist of playersonly.com, sportsbook.com, sportsinteraction.com, mysportsbook.com, and linesmaker.com."
    Looking at the tactics submitted by the lawyers it seems that they are pulling some fast ones on the online gambling industry, first by disallowing any proper defense for the owners of the domain names as well as using unethical ploys to get information that could be used to further a very thin case.
