Symantec has fired Enrique Salem and named Steve Bennett CEO.
Security software provider Symantec fired CEO Enrique Salem on Wednesday amidst poor financial results, including a 10 percent dip in profits this quarter.
Symantec’s board of directors appointed Steve Bennett president and chief executive officer. Bennett will continue in his role as chairman of the board.
The appointment comes a couple of weeks after Symantec added several new cloud capabilities in order to strengthen its delivery of its security and backup solutions through managed service provider partners.
