An arbitrator with the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center has awarded nicolerichiefragrance.com and nicolerichieperfume.com domains to Nicole     Richie. Nicole Richie filed a complaint with the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center on March 14,2012,asserting legal rights over the domain names.The famous actress owns many trademark registrations for the "Nicolet Richie" mark.Therefore,she proved that the domain names are confusingly similar to her trademark.

Moreover,she contended and managed to demonstrate that the respondent registered and used the disputed domain names in bad faith :

"Respondent attempted to attract, for commercial gain, Internet users to Respondent’s websites by creating a likelihood of confusion with Complainant’s trademark. Respondent seemed to be banking on the fact that, like many other celebrities, Complainant would market an eponymous fragrance line, and by registering the Disputed Domain Names, Respondent could disrupt Complainant’s business. Respondent was also preventing Complainant from making a legitimate use of the Disputed Domain Names."

The Panel ordered the disputed domain names to be transferred from the respondent to the complainant.
