According to DNJournal first quarter of 2012 domain name sales report,the total dollar volume was down  5.5% quarter over quarter . While overall volume was down,the number of domain sales transactions reported in the first quarter of 2012 rose 15% from previous quarter .There were 4,306 transactions reported in the first quarter of 2012,whil in the Q4 2011 there were only 3,754 .

In Q1 2012 the biggest five domain name sales reported  totaled $1.77 million,while in the 4Q 2011,the top five domain name sales reporter totaled  $2,67 million.Moreover,he top five domain name sale in the same quarter of 2011 totaled $2,18 million.

The report also shows that the total dollar volume reported in the first quarter of 2012 for .COMs was $15.2 million,down 7% from the same quarter of 2011.

The total dollar volume reported in the first quarter of 2012 for ccTLDs was $4.6 million,15% more than from 4Q 2011 and 7% more over 1Q 2011.
