      Amazon and Facebook are once again in the news for their social commerce efforts, as the two companies have partnered together to expand the ways in which consumers can buy and receive and Amazon gift cards.       The way in which the new Amazon and Facebook partnership works, is that consumers can go onto the Amazon gift card creator web page and click on the  Facebook tab, which directs you to your Facebook account. The connection to the Facebook account allows the gift giver to select the gift card recipient from their friend list, and then set the amount and date for delivery. This is a very quick process so it is likely that many people will take advantage of this gift card giving option this holiday season.

      In order to promote the Amazon Gift Card and Facebook partnership, there is a limited offer now available, where the first 10,000 customers will get a $5 promotion code for Amazon MP3 music downloads. However these $5 gift cards are only available to those customers who give an MP3-themed gift card to five of their friends. Facebook and Amazon have collaborated on a number of projects, and it is likely that we will see more partnership activity from them in 2011.
