The number of .CN domain name decreased by 50 percent,from 13.7 million to about 6 million .CN domain names registered.
According to PeopleDaily.com,Zhang Xiangdong said this at the 2010 annual meeting on China's Internet.Zhang Xianglong,CEO of Net.cn explained the reasons why .CN domain name registrations dropped so much.Therefore,he explained that there are two main reasons : Rigid regulation and the end of the program that allowed people to register .CN domain names for 1 yuan.
Moreover,he said that this way they got rid of the ineffective domain names.
