For those of you who live in the UK and are HTC One users, chances are you may have been waiting a long time for the Android 4.4 (“KitKat”) update. Unfortunately, you’re in for a longer wait, as HTC UK has issued a temporary suspension on the Android update due to users complaining of issues. HTC hasn’t elaborated on that reason, but – allegedly – the few users who have already updated to Android 4.4 on their HTC One have complained of poor battery life among other issues as a result of the Android update.

HTC announced the suspension via its HTC UK Twitter account yesterday afternoon GMT; the company is aware of the user-experienced issues with the Android 4.4 update, and thus have temporarily suspended all Android 4.4 updates in the UK for the time being.

HTC later issued a statement to Android Central, acknowledging the small number of HTC users who are having difficulties with the Android update, and that the company is hard at work to resolve the issue for users quickly.

“We are aware that a limited number of HTC users are experiencing difficulties with the KitKat update. As a result, all FOTA updates have been temporarily suspended. HTC is committed to providing customers with the best possible mobile experience and we are working hard to resolve the issue quickly.”
