When you want to direct more traffic to your website, you can purchase multiple domain names with different extensions or similar domain names to direct to your main website. Similarly, you can create subdomains on domains in your cPanel account and use the system's native domain parking feature to redirect the subdomains to other locations.

    cPanel Parking
cPanel's server management and website hosting software allows you to manage your domains in several ways. One of those options is the ability to park a domain name, which you have purchased through your host or a separate domain register. cPanel Parking refers to redirecting one or more secondary domains to your main domain name. When your visitor loads the secondary domain in her browser, she will be redirected to your main domain and still see the secondary URL in the address bar.

    Parking a Domain
Once you log in to your cPanel account, you can click the "Parked Domains" icon to access these options. Here, you can add a domain or a subdomain which parks on top of, or redirects to, a main domain. After adding the subdomain, cPanel allows you to manage where the subdomain redirects to.

    Misconceptions
The parking function of cPanel is not the same as domain parking in general, which specialized parking services and some domain registrars provide. These services allow you to use a placeholder for a domain. This placeholder may be similar to a "Coming Soon" sign or relevant text ads that you can use to earn money from your parked domain, images and a possibly a search bar. cPanel does not offer this kind of domain parking, however and services that do, do not allow you to park a subdomain.

    True Subdomain Parking
If you wish to emulate placeholder domain parking with a subdomain, you will have to use a workaround. For example, you can purchase a domain that will use the same keywords and ad content as your subdomain and set up true parking with that domain. Then, you can use cPanel to park or redirect your subdomain to that domain to show the placeholder or advertising. You can also manually redirect your subdomain by creating an ".htaccess" file in the subdomain folder and using a 301 redirect to another URL.
