Web hosting and colocation provider Contegix announced on Monday it will be moving its headquarters and build a new data center on the entire 6th floor of the 210 North Tucker site in St. Louis.

The relocation is an effort to accomodate the continued growth of Contegix, which has seen explosive growth in 2012 with an 86 percent boost in new customer sales.

The sales increase could likely be attribute to Contegix decision to restructure the pricing of its cloud platform MiraCloud, which Contegix launched in OCtober 2011.

In an effort to facilitate its growth, particularly in managed services and high-end colocation for high-density services, Contegix requested building owner Digital Realty to design a data center with N+1 redundancy.

These types of data centers have at least one independent backup, ensuring that systems will be available in the event of a primary power failure.

“We are constantly exploring the best uses of technology for our customers, and we saw an opportunity to simultaneously upgrade our facilities and unite our company under one roof,” said Matthew Porter, CEO of Contegix. “We owe it to our customers and our employees to invest in facilities that propel us forward and ensure future success. As one of the world’s largest data center providers, Digital Realty gives us the ability to expand our footprint as we continue to grow.”

Porter and Contegix co-founder Craig McElroy were both adamant about keeping Contegix’s offices downtown, which they say has seen a “renaissance” over the past decade.

The new lease will solidify Contegix as the data center’s anchor tenant in which the company will house both its offices and data center.

In September, Digital Realty Trust opened the first phase of the $30 million data center expansion of 210 North Tucker.

Contegix says it will relocate to the new offices and data center by the end of January 2013.
