Cloud-based monitoring and systems management solutions provider ScaleXtreme announced it has released free software for companies to build internal cloud dashboards and self-service portals for developers and other end-users.

Some of the top complaints about the public cloud is that it lacks a certain level of visibility and control, which inevitably prevents many companies from adopting cloud services.

Providing a company’s developers and end-users with software to provision public cloud servers is beneficial to the web host, as it can help drive down costs and improve satisfaction.

ScaleXtreme is providing companies an interface that simplifies the cloud computing process for their end users by providing app, ensuring their cloud servers are monitored, compliant with security policies and have been appropriately patched.

ScaleXtreme says it developed the self-service portal after receiving requests from several of its largest enterprise customers.

By downloading the open-source PHP code at Github, customers can build their own internal, on-premise self-service portal.

ScaleXtreme’s new on-premise cloud portal works directly with its cloud service through standards-compliant REST API’s, leveraging ScaleXtreme’s monitoring, budgeting, patch management, cloud provisioning and automation capabilities.
