BackupAgent Integrates Cloud Backup Platform with Citrix CloudPortal

Cloud backup provider BackupAgent and Citrix announced on Tuesday that they have partnered to deliver cloud backup to service providers through the Citrix CloudPortal Services Manager.
Service providers can manage the delivery of cloud services through Citrix CloudPortal Services Manager, and v10 offers integration with BackupAgent. This integration allows service providers to add cloud backup to their offerings and activate the backup services for customers easily through the control panel.
Using BackupAgent cloud backup software, service providers can offer customers automated backup with several features, including backup of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Exchange Server, and MySQL databases.
“We are excited about our partnership with Citrix. Citrix is growing very fast in the service provider area and BackupAgent can now contribute to and benefit from this growth,” Roland Sars, CCO of BackupAgent said in a statement. “We already have deployed the first service providers that use CloudPortal Services Manager with BackupAgent and their enthusiasm shows us that our partnership with Citrix has a bright future.”
BackupAgent has joined the Citrix Ready Program and completed verification testing of its cloud backup platform for service providers to ensure the compatibility of the joint solution.
“We want to enrich the Citrix ecosystem with A-class vendors that offer significant value to our Citrix Service Providers and their customers,” Sridhar Mullapudi, director of product management, cloud app delivery at Citrix said in a statement. “BackupAgent offers such value and we are confident that the partnership between Citrix and BackupAgent will lead to great business opportunities.”
In a presentation at WHD Local in Paris last year, Sars says only 15 percent of SMBs make adequate daily backups of their data, identifying a major opportunity for web hosts.
