I just received two emails in the last 1/2 both messages look like someone is sending a direct message from Twitter but in fact are trying to get you to sign into a forged site.
The emails are coming from people I follow on Twitter so it looks credible but its not.
Here is what the email say:
“”Hey this user is making really bad things about you”
The email then has a link that it wants you to click on which goes to a twitter phishing site, twititre.com
DO NOT RESPOND TO THESE EMAILS, DO NOT CLICK THE LINK & DON’T PUT IN YOUR USER ID OR PASSWORD.
You might also want to go into your real twitter.com account and change your password I just did.
For the record the domain being used for this attack was registered in China and the registrar is XIN NET TECHNOLOGY CORPORATION.
