An arbitrator with the National Arbitration Forum,has awarded GooglePatents.com domain name to Google.The company,submitted a complaint to the National Arbitration Forum,on December 23,2011,asserting legal rights over the disputed domain name . Google owns many the "Google" trademark with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)among many others.Therefore,they contended and managed to demonstrate that GooglePatents.com is confusingly similar to its trademark.Moreover,Google contended in the complaint that the respondent registered and used the disputed domain name in bad faith :

"Complainant argues and submits evidence to show that Respondent previously used the disputed domain name to provide content unrelated to Complainant while proclaiming that the site visitor was the “Google Winner” for the day.  Subsequently the Internet user was offered a giveaway if it completed certain offers and entered an e-mail address.  Complainant claims that Respondent received some sort of affiliate or other revenue from this use, and Respondent has not contradicted this argument with a Response.  "

The respondent failed to submit a response in this proceeding.

The Panel ordered the disputed domain name to be transferred from to respondent to  complainant.
