The IE Domain Registry (IEDR) ,reported record .ie domain name registration in Quarter 2 .10,812 .ie domain names were registered in the second quarter of 2011,a 6.8% increase on the corresponding quarter last year . May was one of the best months for IEDR .4,000 new .ie domain names were created in May .

This year,a  total of 20,995 domain names have been registered ,a 10 percent increase on the 19,099 domain names registered in the same period of 2010 .

Moreover,IEDR announced that the percentage of people who do not renew their domain names fell to 13% ,down 1.7 percent on the 2010 figure .
